In The Beginning A Brief Introduction
Well where do I start. I guess I will start at the beginning. It was May of 2021 and Covid finally had allowed events to start back up again. The one thing I enjoyed in the summer time was going to concerts and being outdoors. It wasn't until the end of 2020 that things finally started getting moving again. Restaurants were opening back up, bars were allowing people to come back in larger quantities and live music started happening again. I was so excited that I finally was able to go out and see friends again and I got to enjoy live music.
One spring skiing day, my boyfriend heard a band playing at the base of Big Mountain rd. He noticed that they had no base player and he asked if they were looking for one. They said yes and he of course joined their band called TYGR. They had many days of practice and then they had their first show up in Polebridge. It was there that I took my phone and started taking pictures. The background was perfect there were mountains and it was right next to Glacier National Park.
At first I thought it was a good idea to shoot from a distance and zoom in on portrait mode on my phone. Then I realized that was the wrong thing to do. My pictures were grainy and they didn't look good at all. I decided that I was going to get closer then take pictures. I got closer like really close and started taking pictures. The quality of the pictures were way better by a lot. I started kneeling on the ground getting all the cool angles. I went back and look at the pictures and was shocked at how much better they looked.
As the year went on I was taking so many pictures on my phone, then in 2022 I got my first camera for my birthday a Nikon 3300, and I had to relearn how to take pictures. My Nikon 3300 is a my first beginner crop sensor camera and it came with two lenses 18-55 mm and a 55-200mm, that I did my first photo session with. Then I was asked to do a wedding and I knew that what I had was not going to cut it so I decided to my first big girl lens with is my 24-70 mm lens. I still used my two other lenses as well but I knew I needed a lens that was going to help me. Now my 3300 is a good camera but, it is also a beginner camera. It did great during the day but, as the night went on, I noticed that it was struggling to keep up with the quality of the pictures I was taking.
After that wedding I decided I was going to look into getting a full frame camera and I bought the Nikon D750. Its a great camera and I love it. This camera made a world of difference for taking photos at night for concerts and it is my go two camera. Now that I have a full frame camera, my goal is really embrace myself as a photographer and be as creative as can be. I hope you will join me in my journey and learn along the way with me.
